Terms of Service
Last updated: May 6, 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MakerManifest (makermanifest.co), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use this service. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and anyone who accesses or uses the platform in any way.
Who Can Use MakerManifest
MakerManifest is intended for content creators, makers, and enthusiasts who want to share curated product lists with their audience. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf. Subscribing to a paid plan requires you to be at least 18 years old or to have authorization from a parent or legal guardian.
Your Account
- •You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
- •You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- •You must not share your account credentials with others.
- •You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- •We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Paid Plans & Billing
MakerManifest offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis at the rates shown on the Pricing page at the time of purchase. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize VARO Industries to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices are displayed in USD. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers — price changes will not affect your current billing period and will be communicated by email before taking effect. All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your payment card number, expiration date, or security code.
Free Trial
New paid subscribers receive a 30-day free trial. Your payment method is required at the time of subscription but will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial at no charge. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription begins automatically and your payment method is charged at the applicable plan rate. Only one free trial is available per account.
Auto-Renewal Disclosure
Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Manage Subscription. Upon cancellation, your paid plan remains active through the end of your current billing period. We do not issue prorated refunds for unused time within a billing period. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will review your request. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us may result in immediate account suspension. Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
Data Retention on Cancellation or Downgrade
When your paid subscription ends — whether by cancellation, non-payment, or downgrade — your account is moved to the free tier. Your data, including gear lists, items, affiliate rules, analytics history, and user-created short links, is retained for 12 months from the date of downgrade. If you resubscribe to a paid plan within that 12-month window, all data is restored. After 12 months without an active paid subscription, gear lists, items, affiliate rules, analytics history, and user-created short links are permanently deleted. Your account shell — username, email address, bio, avatar, and social profile links — is retained indefinitely until you choose to delete your account. You may delete your account at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Danger Zone.
Beta Users & Grandfathered Benefits
Users who created accounts during MakerManifest's beta period (prior to June 1, 2026) ("beta users") received a 30-day grace period from the launch date during which all features were available at no charge. Free accounts are otherwise limited to 10 gear lists and 25 items per list — beta users are permanently exempt from these caps and may retain any gear lists and items created during the beta period regardless of count. As an additional permanent benefit, beta users' affiliate rules remain active and continue to apply at redirect time on the free tier — however, affiliate rules are read-only on a free beta account (rules cannot be added, edited, or deleted without upgrading to a paid plan). These grandfathered benefits apply only to gear lists, items, and affiliate rules that existed at the time of downgrade and are non-transferable.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use MakerManifest only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on the rights of others or restrict their use and enjoyment of the platform. The following are prohibited:
- •Posting spam, misleading links, or content designed to deceive users.
- •Sharing links to malware, phishing sites, or other harmful content.
- •Using the URL shortener to obscure the destination of harmful or illegal content.
- •Impersonating other creators or misrepresenting your affiliation with a brand.
- •Violating any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- •Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform.
- •Scraping, crawling, or otherwise harvesting data from the platform without permission.
Affiliate Links & FTC Disclosure
MakerManifest is designed to help creators share affiliate links with their audience. By using this platform, you agree to comply with the FTC's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. This means:
- •You must clearly disclose when links on your lists are affiliate links.
- •You must not make false or misleading claims about products you list.
- •You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of affiliate programs complies with those programs' terms.
- •MakerManifest may apply its own affiliate tags to links where a user has not configured their own, as disclosed in our Privacy Policy.
Platform Affiliate Tags
When a visitor clicks a product link and no affiliate rule has been configured by the account holder for that store, MakerManifest may apply its own affiliate tag to help sustain the platform. This applies only to non-beta free-tier accounts. Basic and Premium subscribers are never subject to this — their links always use the creator's own affiliate tags or pass through unmodified. Users who created accounts during the beta period (prior to June 1, 2026) retain the benefit that their existing affiliate rules continue to fire at redirect time even on the free tier; only accounts without any configured affiliate rules, or accounts created after the beta period, are subject to platform tag substitution. This practice is disclosed here and in the Privacy Policy in accordance with FTC guidelines.
URL Shortener
The MakerManifest URL shortener (mkr.ms and associated domains) is provided as a convenience for creators sharing links to their content. It may not be used to shorten links to content that violates these terms. We reserve the right to disable any short link at any time without notice if we determine it is being used to distribute harmful, illegal, or deceptive content. Short links created by paid subscribers remain active for the duration of their subscription and for 12 months following downgrade to the free tier.
Content Ownership
You retain ownership of any content you create and publish on MakerManifest, including kit titles, descriptions, and product lists. By posting content, you grant MakerManifest a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content as part of operating the platform. You represent that you have the right to grant this license for any content you submit.
Reporting Abuse
If you encounter a link or profile that you believe violates these terms, you may report it using our abuse report form at makermanifest.co/report. Reports are reviewed by our team. We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or take other action at our discretion. Submitting false or malicious reports may result in account suspension.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to MakerManifest at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Danger Zone. If you have an active paid subscription at the time of deletion, your subscription is cancelled immediately and you will not be charged again — however, no refund is issued for unused time in the current billing period. Upon termination, your public-facing content may be removed from the platform.
Disclaimer of Warranties
MakerManifest is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We are not responsible for the content of external sites linked from gear lists.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VARO Industries and MakerManifest shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of MakerManifest shall be resolved in the courts of Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes — including changes to billing, refund policy, or data retention — we will notify active subscribers by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of MakerManifest after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
