Browser Extension
Add products to your MakerManifest gear lists directly from any product page — no copy-pasting required.
Step 1 — Generate your extension token
- Log in to MakerManifest and go to Dashboard → Settings.
- Scroll to the Browser Extension section and click Generate Token.
- Copy the token that appears — it is only shown once and cannot be retrieved later. If you lose it, revoke it and generate a new one.
Step 2 — Install the extension
The extension is available as a free download. Until it is listed on the Chrome Web Store, you can load it manually (takes about 30 seconds):
- Download the makermanifest-extension.zip from makermanifest.co/extension/download and unzip it into a folder on your computer.
- In Chrome, open chrome://extensions and enable Developer mode (toggle in the top-right corner).
- Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped
browser-extensionfolder. - The MakerManifest icon will appear in your browser toolbar. Pin it for easy access.
Firefox: Go to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, click Load Temporary Add-on…, and select manifest.json from the unzipped folder. (Temporary — reloads on browser restart until listed on AMO.)
Step 3 — Connect your account
- Click the MakerManifest icon in your browser toolbar.
- Paste your extension token into the input field and click Connect Account.
- You should see your gear lists load immediately — you're connected.
Step 4 — Add a product
- Browse to any product page (Amazon, B&H, Adorama, Best Buy, etc.).
- Click the MakerManifest extension icon — the popup shows the product title, image, and price extracted from the page.
- Choose which gear list to add it to from the dropdown.
- Optionally edit the title, then click Add to List.
- The item is added instantly with your affiliate rules applied — just like adding from the dashboard.
Managing tokens
Each token is tied to your account. If you suspect a token has been compromised, go to Dashboard → Settings → Browser Extension and click Revoke next to it. The extension will stop working immediately with that token. Generate a new one and paste it into the extension to reconnect.
You can generate multiple tokens if you use more than one browser or computer.
Site compatibility
The extension works on any website. It reads Open Graph metadata (og:title, og:image, og:price) that most e-commerce sites publish. Amazon has additional native support — the extension reads the product title, main image, and price directly from the page structure.
If a site doesn't expose good metadata, you can always edit the title in the popup before adding.
